Big Island Hawaii Gypsy Guide App Reviews

We really enjoyed this app on our trip to the Big Island. Lots of history and good clear directions. We traveled all over the island and this app had something to add to the experienced the whole way. Has a couple minor bugs, but it did not take away from the experience. Best 7.99 I have spent on an app.

A friend had used one of their other apps on a different island and told us we needed to purchase this for the big island. The price was way more than I would ever pay for an app without a trial, but we went for it. We learned so much from the app. You do a lot of driving on the big island and this made it so much more interesting. You learn about what you are seeing, places to stop and even history. It was worth what we paid and so much more!

We loved this app! We were able to save hundreds of dollars by Google mapping the different locations tours go on and doing it ourselves with this app as our private tour guide. I would highly recommend this app!

My wife loves maps and guided tours, so she found this app through a little research, and bought it for my Smart Phone. It gave us the most fact filled and fun tour of Hawaii. We absolutely loved it.

This is a fantastic app. This was our first time to the Big Island and just about anywhere you go is a bit of a drive. I learned so much about hawaii that I didnt know from the previous trips that I have taken. We used to just listen to music or nothing, but this tour kept us totally engaged for the full day of driving an touring. I initially bought the Volcanoes app because I didnt see the full island one. After using the Volcanoes NP app, I immediatley bought the full Island version when we got back to continue our trip. We are going to Kauai next and wish there was a version for there. Ill definitely get a GyPSy guide whenever it is available for my next trips.

We had this on Maui and it was very informative so we got it for the big island also

The App does not provide guidance from Hilo to Volcanoes Natl Park - assumes you are driving from Kona area. We had to manually access the high points information. Worked well in the Park since the entry point is the same regardless of the route used to reach that entry. Previously we used the Gypsy guides in British Columbia which were superb. Voice over is clear and generally excellent. Software is basically buggy. Dont run off the road in HI trying to constantly keep the playback going. The actual information is just ok. Again the reader is excellent though.

Very easy to use and an exceptional value. Cheaper than a small nachos at the Hilton! I know a lot of people might crying but its well worth the price. The narrator is great and the commentary is interesting and timely. Its set to go off at certain points on your trip so a mile or two before anything significant like a beach or landmark itll come on. And when youre on a stretch of road with neither it will have some interesting island or Hawaiian history that usually ties in to something further up the road. Now that Ive got it I wouldnt want to go on driving the rest of the island without it. Youll still have lots of time to chat with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The amount of commentary is just right and will only enhance your Big Island Experience.

Planned on a round the island tour and a tour of volcano national park so we decided to give this a try. Had a rental car and was able to stream it through the audio without using my data plan! Between awesome directions and the many points of interest it made for an awesome trip. Advice on stops, get gas here, try this food, see this, amount of time it will take! Total package! My daughter nicknamed the guy Tom the tour guide which tells you how much she enjoyed listening to him. Made an eventful day that much more exciting! Wish I could give 6 stars! So worth it!

I dont know who introduced this to us, but it was an absolute gem, I reluctantly bought Maui tour guide, Road to Hana and we were blown away by the info, direction and quality of app. I bought Big Island tour before we started off. Its a big App due audio files, so be sure to be connected to wifi when installing. Totally recommend this to anyone who is driving around to see a place.

A must have for driving around the island! With well timed and interesting audio clips, its like having your own personal tour guide in the car with you!

Bought this app to do a self guided driving tour of island of Hawaii. Ap did a great job of pointing out things of interest, filing is in on island history, and it was well coordinated with GPS coordinates and real world directions. Would get other apps in this series.

Great app. It is so helpful and entertaining. It makes driving a breeze. This is way better than a tour bus.
